The H44 is a  world class ribbon  microphone made in the U.S. that will give you excellent recordings on almost any source.  With a patent-pending capsule and ribbon design, the mic offers a unique combination of sound quality, durability, and affordability that puts it in a category of its own.

The asymmetric figure 8 polar pattern has a brighter voicing from the front that was designed for vocals but also excels on many instruments, especially in close miked situations.   The front of the mic also includes an extra layer of windscreen for better handling of plosives.  The back of the mic has a slightly darker voicing more reminiscent of a traditional ribbon mic, which is particularly well suited to drum overheads.  The combination of the two voicings creates a package that is quick and easy to adapt to a wide variety of instruments and voices.
